Properties
colorless transparent or white with yellowish diamond crystals, density 2.257 (at 20℃), bitter and salty, easily soluble in water and liquid ammonia, slightly soluble in glycerol and ethanol, easy to deliquesce, containing a small amount of chlorination In the case of sodium impurities, the deliquescent of sodium nitrate is greatly increased.
Applications
The enamel industry is used as a flux, an oxidizer and a raw material for the preparation of enamel powder. The glass industry is used as a decolorant, defoamer, clarifier and oxidation flux for all kinds of glass and products. The inorganic industry is used as a decolorant for molten caustic soda and for the manufacture of other nitrates. The food industry is used as a chromogenic agent for meat processing, which can prevent meat from deteriorating and play a seasoning role. The chemical fertilizer industry is used as a quick-acting fertilizer for acid soil, especially for root-determining crops, such as sugar beet, radish and so on.
