Applications: Used in the preparation of low-density packaging foam.

1. Synthesis Steps: 63.1 g of diethylene glycolamine (0.6 mol) and 34.5 g of paraformaldehyde (1.2 mol) were added to a 250 mL three-necked flask and stirred for 30 minutes. Then, 63 g of formic acid (1.2 mol, 88%) was slowly added dropwise. The reaction mixture was heated to 100-110°C and maintained at this temperature for 1 hour. After the reaction was complete, 30 g of the fraction was distilled off under reduced pressure (vacuum degree -0.094 MPa, vessel temperature 80°C). At this point, the product 2-[2-(dimethylaminochemicalbook)ethoxy]ethanol had a purity of 90.0% and the impurity (S-2) content was 9.8%. 2. Purification Steps: The above reaction solution was transferred to a 500 mL distillation flask and distilled under reduced pressure (-0.094 MPa). The fraction collected at 62°C was first collected, mainly consisting of n-butanol transesterification products and butyl formate. Subsequently, the fraction collected at 121°C, namely the target product 2-[2-(dimethylamino)ethoxy]ethanol, was obtained in total, yielding 128.3g, with a yield of 96.5% and a product purity of 99.9%.
