Applications: In this study, dimethylaminoethyl acrylate was used as a solvent to investigate the hydrolytic stability of poly(2-dimethylamino)methacrylate, which was compared with that of monomethylaminomethyl acrylate. This result was attributed to the coordination of the protonated dimethylamino group and the carbonyl group, making the ester more susceptible to nucleophilic attack by the hydroxyl ion.
