Synthesis method
N,N-dihydroxyethyl-p-methylaniline can be synthesized by the following steps: Add 1,000 g of p-methylaniline and 10 g of water to a 5L autoclave, heat to 60 ℃ ~ 65 ℃ and stir for 30 min, then add 100 g of ethylene oxide and keep the temperature at 65 ~ 70 ℃ for 4 h. Then add 100 g of ethylene oxide within 4 h, keep the temperature at 70 ~ 75 ℃, react at 70 ~ 80 ℃ for 3 h after passing through, and cool to 30 ℃. The reaction solution was added to the distillation kettle, and the product was collected at 143-148°C (1.3-1.6 kPa), with a yield of 86% and a purity of more than 98%. The front fraction can be recycled to increase the yield. The product is a light yellow solid.
