2,4-Difluoroaniline
CAS367-25-9
Chemical properties: pale yellow oily substance.
Uses: 2,4-Difluoroaniline is an intermediate in organic synthesis. In pharmaceuticals, it is used in the synthesis of difluorophenylsalicylic acid and polyfluorodiphenyl acid. Difluorophenylsalicylic acid is a carboxylic acid nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), with the international nonproprietary name (INN) Diflunisal. This new derivative of salicylic acid, while lacking the acetyl group of aspirin, contains a difluorophenyl group, resulting in fewer antiplatelet side effects, milder gastrointestinal reactions, and a duration of action lasting 8-12 hours. It may be the most promising salicylic acid drug. It is also an important intermediate in pesticide production.

Production Method 1. 2,4-Difluoronitrobenzene Reduction Method: Iron powder and ammonium chloride aqueous solution are added to a reduction reactor, heated to reflux, and then 2,4-difluoronitrobenzene is added dropwise. After the addition is complete, reflux for 2 hours. After the reaction is complete, the product is steam distilled, separated by Chemicalbook, and dried with calcium chloride to obtain a qualified product with a yield of 87%. 2. Obtained from 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene through nitration, fluorination, and reductive dechlorination; or obtained from m-phenylenediamine through diazotization, substitution, nitration, and reduction.
