Bromogeramine is used as a disinfectant and preservative in medicine, for hand washing before surgery, skin disinfection, and medical equipment disinfection; Used as a bactericidal and algicidal agent in industrial water treatment; Used as an antibacterial agent for textile printing and dyeing, eye drops, and wound dressings.
Benzalkonium chloride, also known as benzalkonium chloride or benzalkonium chloride, is a quaternary ammonium salt pesticide with broad-spectrum surface activity. It has the characteristics of strong and rapid bactericidal effect, low toxicity, non-irritating to skin and tissues, strong penetration, and non-corrosive to metals and rubber products.
The production method involves placing dodecanol in a reaction vessel, heating and melting it, stirring, and adding sulfuric acid while cooling. Then, hydrobromic acid is added, the temperature is gradually increased, and the reaction is carried out at 90-95°C for 8 hours. After cooling, the acid layer is separated, and the oil layer is neutralized to pH 8 with dilute alkali. The mixture is then washed twice with ethanol and distilled under reduced pressure, collecting the fraction at 140-200°C (3.33 kPa), which is bromododecane, with a yield of 90%. Bromododecane and dimethylbenzylamine are then added sequentially to the reaction vessel and heated to 80°C for 6 hours (temperature not exceeding 110°C) to obtain the product.
