Purpose:

As an insect repellent, DEET is the main repellent ingredient in various solid and liquid mosquito repellent series. It has special effects in preventing mosquitoes. All three isomers have a repellent effect on mosquitoes, and the meta-isomer is the strongest. Preparation: 70%, 95% liquid.

Production method:

Obtained from the reaction of m-toluoyl chloride and diethylamine. Industrial products contain 5%-15% isomers.
