It is colorless or light yellow transparent oily liquid with ammonia smell and irritation. The relative flammability density is 0.9542 (20℃), the melting point is -39℃, the boiling point is 207℃, and the flash point is 94℃. Soluble in water, ethanol and acetone, insoluble in ether. It is highly alkaline and reacts with acid to form corresponding salts. Easily form complexes with heavy metal salts. It is highly hygroscopic and easily absorbs moisture and carbon dioxide in the air, forming white smoke in the air. It is highly corrosive and is corrosive to copper and copper alloys. Very corrosive and irritating to skin, mucous membranes and respiratory tract.

[Use]

Used as organic synthesis intermediates and solvents. Used in the manufacture of polyamide resins, ion exchange resins, surfactants, lubricant additives, fabric finishing agents and photographic chemicals. It is also commonly used as room temperature curing agent for epoxy resin, gas purifier, paper reinforcing agent, aminocarboxylic complexing agent, metal chelating agent, brightener, etc.

[Brief preparation method] It is prepared by performing hot-pressure amination and ammonolysis reactions between dichloroethane and ammonia at 100~150℃ and 4MPa, neutralizing with alkali and then distilling. The reaction formula is as follows:

[Safety and Protection]

It is packed in polyethylene plastic barrels with a net weight of 50kg per barrel; it can also be packed in iron barrels with a net weight of 200kg per barrel; in small quantities, it can be packed in 0.5kg or 1kg glass bottles. Store in a cool and ventilated place, and do not coexist and transport with acids.

This product is a strongly alkaline corrosive liquid. If the skin comes into contact, wash it immediately with water or dilute boric acid solution.
