Used as anti-static agent, stain remover, fabric and paper softener, as well as antibacterial agent, bactericide, emulsifier and dye dispersant.

The production method involves adding 430 kg of dodecyl dimethyl tertiary amine to a reactor, along with a certain amount of isopropanol and water. An alkali is used as a catalyst. After purging the reactor with chemical air, 111 kg of chloromethane is gradually introduced and the reaction is carried out at a pressure of 0.2–0.3 MPa for 4 hours. After cooling to atmospheric pressure, the product is discharged and packaged.
