Colorless, flammable liquid with fruity aroma. Miscible with many organic solvents such as ether, alcohol, halogenated hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons, and slightly soluble in water.

Uses

Ethyl acetate is one of the most widely used fatty acid esters. It is a fast-drying solvent with excellent dissolving power and is an excellent industrial solvent. It can be used for nitrocellulose, ethyl cellulose, chlorinated rubber and vinyl resin, cellulose acetate, cellulose acetate butyl and synthetic rubber, and can also be used for liquid nitrocellulose ink for copier chemicalbook. It can be used as a solvent for adhesives and a diluent for spray paint; in the food industry, it can be used as a flavor extractant for special modified alcohols, and also as an extractant for pharmaceutical processes and organic acids; in the textile industry, it can be used as a cleaning agent, and it can also be used as a cleaning and degreasing agent for integrated circuits in the electronics industry.
