Hexylamine
CAS :111-26-2
Chemical properties:
Colorless liquid. Freezing point -19℃, boiling point 132.7℃, relative density 0.7660 (20/4℃), refractive index 1.4180, flash point 8℃. Miscible with ethanol and ether, slightly soluble in water. Has ammonia odor.
Uses: n-Hexylamine is mainly used as dyes, pigments, surfactants, organic synthesis, intermediates for pharmaceutical synthesis and biochemical reagents, and can be used in electronic chemicals such as etching solution formulations for large-size OLED display screens. Production method: It is obtained by treating methyl n-hexyl ketoxime with phosphorus pentachloride. Treat methyl n-hexyl ketoxime with phosphorus pentachloride in ether, then add water and stir to separate the layers. The rearranged N-acetyl-n-ethylamine is dissolved in ether, and the ether layer is separated. The ether is recovered by distillation, and the remaining oily liquid is hydrolyzed with a dilute potassium hydroxide solution and then distilled. Collect the 130-133°C fraction to obtain hexylamine.
