Preparation method

The preparation method of N,N-diethyl m-toluidine can be m-toluidine as the starting material, using different alkylating agents, such as bromoethane, ethyl chloride method, etc.

Chemical Properties

Colorless or light yellow liquid. Boiling point 231-231.5℃, relative density 0.923 (20/4℃), refractive index 1.5361. Miscible with alcohol and ether, insoluble in water.

Usage

N,N-diethyl m-toluidine is used in organic synthesis and dye intermediates.

Production method:

Obtained from the reaction of m-toluidine and ethyl bromide.
