Product introduction
Phthalic anhydride, commonly known as phthalic anhydride, is an important organic chemical raw material. It is a general-purpose anti-scorching agent for natural rubber, isoprene rubber, butadiene rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, and nitrile rubber, preventing scorching and improving operational safety. It has minimal impact on the vulcanization time and the aging properties of the finished product.
Phthalic anhydride, when used together with sodium carbonate in high-accelerator foaming compound, can increase foaming properties. The primary use of phthalic anhydride is as an organic intermediate in the production of plasticizers, coatings, and unsaturated polyester resins.
Phthalic anhydride is also a widely used anhydride-based epoxy resin curing agent. It is inexpensive, generates little heat during curing, and is particularly suitable for large castings and laminates. The cured product exhibits good electrical properties and mechanical strength, as well as excellent chemical resistance.
Application field
Phthalic anhydride is one of the most important organic chemical raw materials. Its main derivatives include dibutyl phthalate, dioctyl phthalate, and diisobutyl phthalate, which are used as plasticizers in PVC and other products. It can also be used in the production of unsaturated polyester resins, alkyd resins, dyes and pigments, various paints, food additives, the laxative phenolphthalein in pharmaceuticals, and pesticides such as phosmet, metribuzin, and sodium saccharin.
