Jiangsu organic chemical (including dyes) production enterprises, according to their own needs, production and dyes (including pesticide) products supporting the intermediates. The Republic of 37 years (1948), Nanjing Chemical Plant, the trial production of dinitrophenol, the province’s first intermediates, and then stopped construction and production due to the urgency of the war. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, with the development of light textile industry, from the “Second Five-Year Plan”, dyestuff production has also been developed. At the end of 1987, intermediates have formed three series of naphthalene, benzene and anthracene series.

Naphthalene system Methyl naphthalene amine, Changzhou Dyestuff Factory was put into production in 1962, with a monthly output of about 10 tons. 1964, the factory workshop was relocated, the process was reformed, the operating conditions were changed, and the annual output was increased to 500 tons. 1973 July, methyl naphthalene amine as a foreign exchange project, investment 138,300,000 yuan, the first in China to change the intermittent reduction to continuous reduction process, so that the annual output increased to 1000 tons, the process continues to this day. In 1979, the plant again transformed the equipment, expanded the cooling surface, adjusted the steamer downstream packing tower, so that the quality of the product improved significantly. 1983, methyl naphthalene amine became the third product in the history of the plant to generate annual profits of one million yuan. 1985, methyl naphthalene amine was rated as high-quality products in Jiangsu Province. 1987, the plant self-financed 570,000 yuan, and again expanded the production and transformation, the year-end output reached 2706 tons, the output Total 25715 tons. Methylnaphthylamine has been exported since 1981, and by the end of 1987, the total export was 1343 tons, which is the exclusive production in the provincial plan. In addition to methylnaphthylamine, the plant used to produce methylnaphthol (when Changzhou Pesticide Factory was established in 1971, it was assigned to Changzhou Pesticide Factory for production.) In 1972, it produced ethylnaphthol, which was discontinued in 1980 due to product adjustment.

In addition, Nanjing Chemical Factory put into production Tucson acid and J acid in 1959 and 1960, respectively, and developed ethylnaphthol in 1965 and methylnaphthol in 1984. Suzhou Dyestuff Factory put into trial production nivenic acid and L-acid in 1965. Wujiang County Dongfeng Chemical Factory produced tollibex in 1970. Rudong County Chemical Factory from 1979, the trial production of new products H acid, ethyl naphthol, amino C salt, R salt, etc. In 1985, self-financed technical improvement funds of 3 million yuan, so that the plant’s annual production capacity of 4,000 tons, R salt in 1987 was named Jiangsu Province quality products. 1987 Rudong County Chemical Factory dyestuff intermediates exports amounted to 2.4 million U.S. dollars.

Benzene system There are more varieties of such intermediates, mainly produced by Nanjing Chemical Factory, some of them are described in the chapter of “organic chemical industry” in this journal.

The first product in the benzene system is dinitrophenol, which is produced by Nanjing Chemical Factory, the predecessor of Central Chemical Factory in the Republic of China in 37 years after the trial production of 10 tons of Jing Plant. In July of R.O.C. 38, Nanjing Chemical Plant succeeded in the trial production of dinitrochlorinated benzene, with the output of 1 ton in that month. Dinitrochlorobenzene was the main raw material for the production of sulfide element, which was mainly imported from the United States at that time. In order to break the U.S. economic blockade and maintain the livelihood of the plant, Nanjing Chemical Plant, under the very difficult conditions of capital, equipment and technology, relied on the workers to stir the material with wooden sticks and other indigenous methods, so that the output of dinitrochlorinated benzene reached 15.5 tons that year. 1951, the state invested 1.8 billion yuan (equivalent to 180,000 yuan) in the plant, the construction of dinitro production equipment, has adopted the workers created “In July 1956, the plant’s “amino” plant was completed, and 10 kinds of products such as p-aminophenol were put into production. In 1959, the output of dinitro ammoniated benzene reached 1885 tons. After 3 years of economic adjustment, with the change of dyestuff varieties, the plant developed other intermediates of benzene series one after another. In the late 70s, with the adjustment of sulfur dyestuff products, the output of dinitrochlorobenzene decreased year by year, and only 667 tons were produced in 1987. In contrast, the development of aniline in 1958 was due to the development of disperse dyestuffs and other production and sales, and the output reached 5971 tons in 1987.

In addition to the production of benzene series intermediates in Nanjing Chemical Plant, Wuxi Dyestuff Factory also put into production dinitrochlorinated benzene (self-matching) in 1963, p-nitroaniline and p-nitrochlorinated benzene in 1966, and phenyl peridothenic acid and hexachloroanthraquinone in 1973; Nanjing Dyestuff Factory produced p-aminophenol on a trial basis in 1966; Changzhou Auxiliary Plant put into production diphenylamine in 1966; Rudong Chemical Plant produced hydroquinone on a trial basis in 1974; Changzhou Chemical Plant produced hydroquinone on a trial basis in 1974. In 1976, the Provincial Bureau of Combustion and Chemical Industry invested 1.9 million yuan in Wuxi Dyestuff Factory to expand the annual production capacity of phenyl peri-acid and build a new 100-ton toluene-based peri-acid plant. The Ministry of Chemical Industry and the Provincial Bureau of Combustion and Chemical Industry invested 4.18 million yuan to build an annual capacity of 3,000 tons of mononitrotoluene plant in Jiangsu.

Anthracene system Anthracene intermediates are mainly used as raw materials for the production of reduction dyes. In 1972, Xuzhou Dyeing and Chemical Plant started to produce chlorinated insoluble quinone, and in 1976, it produced 1-amino insoluble quinone on a trial basis; in 1975, Changzhou Dyeing Plant built a new reduction dyestuff production plant and put into production 1.4 diamino anthraquinone, 1-chloro anthraquinone and other products; Wuxi Dyeing Plant also had anthracene series products to support the production of dyestuff in the plant. Until 1987, due to the change of dyestuff product structure, the output of anthracene series products was only 338 tons, and 120 tons were exported.
